We worked alongside Alexander Martin Architects on this Georgian Terraced house in De Beauvoir Town on the borders of Islington and Hackney. The design was to remodel a previously cramped home and create a new and contemporary space, flooded with natural light and where the clients could entertain friends and family. We demolished the existing rear extension and a new and striking contemporary space, of two stacked black boxes, was created at the ground and first floors with floor to ceiling windows. The main family space, opened to the garden with skylights to the roof. The interiors kept to a simple palette, bathrooms and bedrooms remodelled, and a folded timber panelled stair tied in beautifully with the bespoke joinery and timber floors.
