We worked with AMA to transform this Victorian semi-detached Islington Townhouse, which was located within the Barnsbury Conservation Area in Islington. Having been previously divided into two flats we undertook a full refurbishment, adding a two-storey rear extension. AMA had worked to create a better flow and usability of the house in their design, reconfiguring the internal circulation and opening up full width at the rear. The specified palette of stock brick, natural stone and slate worked to tie the new addition into the materials of the original house. The central focus internally was the stunning slatted timber staircase, and the clients’ eclectic tastes, influenced by their extensive travels abroad, were brough to life with the beautiful interior design finishes.
